Requesting an update or a new Design Token
It can happen while applying Design Tokens (variables in Figma) to your components a certain typography style, color, size or border-radius is missing. Or an existing Style or Design Token simply seems off or incorrect for your use case. Feel free to reach out to the Aero Design System team to figure out what the best next step is.
- Describe the context of use in our community channel.
- Provide visual references or sketches to illustrate the missing Style or Token
- If applicable, make sure the request supports multi-branded examples, because Aero is not specific to any product or brand.

How much impact the change makes or how much time it costs depends on the request. Together we need to figure out if:
- there is no alternative Design Token or solution;
- it’s a Brand specific issue;
- it applies to your specific Platform only or to the Global Foundation.
Creating, updating or rerouting an existing Token is a quite straightforward task, but renaming or replacing Tokens that are already applied to Components will result in a so-called ‘breaking change’ and makes more impact on the entire system and on all the teams.
