Requesting an update or a new Icon/Illustration
When requesting an update or a new icon/illustration, follow a structured approach to make sure the request aligns with Air France and KLM's design standards. Start by defining the purpose and context of the icon request within the Aero Design System. Check if existing icons can be used to meet the need to avoid unnecessary duplication. In your request include the following details:
- Reach out to us via the community channel
- Add your request to our Planner
- Please provide more details to the Planner task:
- Asset type
- Checked current libraries?
- Checked pending requests?
- Purpose & context
- Additional storytelling elements (illustration)
- Live or context example
- Delivery date
- Owner/ contact
- Estimated scope/ impact: product specific or larger application
Once the icon is designed the Figma library and Github repo will be updated. You can then inform your developers that the icons are ready to be picked up in the Aero repo.
Once the illustration designed, it will be added to BRIX where your developers can pick up the url: Air France BRIX or KLM Digital BRIX.
